DX-HV9910

Description

The HV9910 is a PWM high-efficiency LED drivercontrol IC. It allows efficient operation of HighBrightness (HB) LEDs from voltage sourcesranging from 8VDC up to 450VDC. The HV9910controls an external MOSFET at fixed switchingfrequency up to 300kHz. The frequency can beprogrammed using a single resistor. The LED stringis driven at constant current rather than constantvoltage, thus providing constant light output andenhanced reliability. The output current can beprogrammed between a few milliamps and up tomore than 1.0A.

HV9910 uses a rugged high voltage junctionisolated process that can withstand an input voltagesurge of up to 450V. Output current to an LEDstring can be programmed to any value betweenzero and its maximum value by applying anexternal control voltage at the linear dimmingcontrol input of the HV9910. The HV9910 providesa low-frequency PWM dimming input that canaccept an external control signal with a duty ratio of0-100% and a frequency of up to a few kilohertz.
